Time to Take a Stand

The President stood in front of a room full of Hollywood elites the other day and proclaimed that his stimulus spending was showing progress, that we were coming back from the brink, and that, in his words, “You ain’t seen nothing yet!” Knowing what I know about the man and his plans, I believe him. We ain’t seen nothing yet. Based on what we’ve already seen, this statement scares me to death.

The Senate is about to consider a replacement judge for the retiring Justice Suiter. As expected, President Obama has selected a woman cut from the same extreme liberal cloth he was cut from. The mainstream media is all in a tizzy about this nomination and are doing everything possible to hide her most shining accomplishments lest they give fodder to the right. They know that from day one she will violate her oath to uphold the Constitution by bringing “empathy” to the court. Empathy is a code word for legislating from the bench, a practice strictly prohibited throughout the Constitution. But, then, to the President and the left wing, the Constitution is just a document written in a different time that no longer applies in this day and age.

The Obama administration has already warned, or should I say threatened, the opposition to choose their criticisms of Ms. Sotomayor carefully. Of course, all the unfair comments and tactics used for the Alito and Roberts confirmations have been forgotten by the left. They’ve always been a “do as I say, not as I do” party. What I don’t understand is why they’re even worried. With their majority in the Senate and so many spineless Republicans, she should be a shoe-in for confirmation. God help us if she does get in and is followed up by a couple more left wing extremist judges before Obama is sent packing.

And this is just the tip of the Obama iceberg. Under the surface are the destruction of the banking industry, socialization of medicine, and the takeover of the auto industry. Spending is completely and totally out of control, to the point where the value of the dollar is plummeting to new lows around the world.

The President himself has admitted that the money being printed to cover all of his programs has nothing backing it. In other words, the Treasury Department is printing worthless pieces of paper and telling us its money. It’s like our government has a super platinum credit card with no limits, backed by the Bank of Monopoly. When will they realize that this is America they’re dealing with, not some meaningless game of chance?

Frankly, I’m tired of the present state of idiocy in DC. I’m tired of watching our liberties being taken away piece by piece. I’m sick and tired or the Apologizer-in-Chief running around to our enemies, telling them just how bad we’ve been, shaking hands with despots and tyrants, and offering the palm branch to those that won’t be happy until we’re all dead. I’m tired of the un-American and unpatriotic attitudes of this administration. And I’m tired of their relentless attacks on the Constitution and Christianity. It’s time to take a stand! It’s time to save America from ruin!

Janet Napolitano, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, has aptly labeled me a right-wing extremist because I’m retired military, I believe in freedom of speech, I believe in the right to bear arms, I’m a Christian, and I listen to Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck. If the shoe fits, then I really don’t have a problem with that label.

May I also throw in that I’m fanatically patriotic and willing to die for the sake of retaining the freedoms we all know and love. I’ve lived in freedom and spent over twenty years of my life defending it, and refuse to let it be taken away from me. I will not live under a socialist, elected or not. Will you?

It’s time to take a stand against the un-American and unpatriotic, anti-liberty tyrants that are in DC. It’s time to let them know that we’re mad as hell and we’re not going to take it any more. Together, we can do it. Together, we can get America back on the right track and save it from ruin. And we can do it without firing a shot, without violence of any kind, because I believe we have the numbers. And the numbers are growing with every new legislation, every new tax, every new foreclosure, every new job loss, every new government takeover, and every new apology.

Our biggest opportunity to get the message to Washington and every liberal statehouse is the 2010 elections. We must organize, strategize, and help others realize there are ways to oust these tyrants. They’re betting that we’re just going to lie down and take it. Let’s prove them wrong. Let’s prove to them, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that we’re Americans!

Moving In

President Obama started his term with a very strange maneuver; he took the oath twice. The first oath was spoken at his inauguration with his hand on the Bible. But because of a couple of bumbled words, he didn’t feel confident that this was official. So, in the privacy of the White House, without the press in the room, he took the oath once more. Strangely, however, no one could locate a Bible for the second oath, so he took it without one. As far as I know, this is a first for any President. And as far as I believe, this second oath means nothing if he didn’t include God.

Then he found that several of his cabinet nominees had tax problems. One, Timothy Gietner, who was guilty of tax evasion for several years, skated through and was put in charge of the treasury, which, by the way, is also over the IRS. How bizarre.

Shortly after, Tom Daschle showed up for his hearings under a cloud of unreported taxes. After several days of scrutiny, and still with the support of the President, the former Senate Majority Leader removed his name from consideration. A strange fact about Mr. Daschle’s situation is that when in the Senate, he stated that tax cheats should be prosecuted to the letter of the law. I guess the rules have changed now that he’s the one with egg on his face.

President Obama has nominated at least two more individuals with tax problems. At least they were honorable enough to remove themselves from the process. Mr. Gietner should have done the same.

Behind the scene, the President has been very busy. He’s already signed bills lifting the “Don’t ask, don’t tell” military policy. This will allow homosexuals to openly serve in our armed forces. He doesn’t understand at all the problems this will cause, nor does he understand the expenses and lawsuits that will stem from this misinformed decision.

He’s called for the closing of Gitmo, without a thought about how this can be done without endangering our country. Gitmo is a vital part of our military prison system that should be left to the military to run. Congress has repeatedly investigated the prison and have yet to find any fault or problems with the facility or how it is operated.
President Obama, being true to his liberal supporters and roots, has signed orders costing billions in support of abortion, global warming, homosexual rights, and hate crimes legislation. He’s scaling back on the Iraq war and seemingly pulling back from his support for Israel by placating to the Arab nations. At the same time, he’s set up a committee to study the faith-based initiatives to include all religions equally. By doing these things, he’s proving, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he’s a far left-wing partisan.

Of course, most of this information is not readily available to the public because the websites the President promised us so we could inspect all of these proposals are still under construction. And, I can almost guarantee, they will be until this ridiculous stimulus package is signed into law. But, let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves.

The President has promised us that his administration is and will be the most transparent and ethical administration ever. So far, he’s not delivering on that promise. With all of the tax problems, backroom orders, and hidden agendas he’s already overseen, there is nothing transparent or ethical as of yet.

And now we come to the stimulus package, a trillion dollar spending bill that will supposedly save our country from a complete economic meltdown. This is a contentious bill that has split the Congress and the country. And the more that comes out on the bill, the bigger the divide gets

Still, the President wants it and will do whatever is necessary to sell it to the people. My question is: if he believes that the stimulus is the answer to all of our problems, and he has the votes in the House and Senate, then why does he feel compelled to fly hither and yon to drum up support from those the bill will supposedly help? Why does he feel the need to waste our tax dollars on a campaign style tour for support of a done deal? Mr. President, the campaign is over. Get back to Washington and do your job.

In conclusion, the first few weeks of the Obama administration hasn’t been what he promised it would be. It hasn’t been transparent. It hasn’t been ethical. And it hasn’t been anything close to the change we can believe in. So far, it’s been nothing more than business as usual on the Democrat side of the aisle. And you can expect much, much more of the same.

If I would have voted for him, I’d be sorely disappointed in these first few weeks.
